Finding evidence of paranormal activity, on some creepy woods at night might be too much for some people. Now, If you’re a fan of horror games and creepy stuff in general, you definitely should try out Apparition. After playing it for a while, I decided to share my experience with you. I’ll try not to spoil anything important.

Apparition is a survival horror game where you’ll play as a paranormal investigator. The game starts with you visiting a supposedly haunted campsite, your job is to find evidence of paranormal activity. Using an Ouija Board and taking pictures, video, and audio recordings of “evidence” you’ll get closer to uncovering a terrible mystery of Green Creek.

You’ve heard the stories about mysterious disappearances following the tragic events of Green Creek. This time, you have the opportunity to see it for yourself. The plan is the same as always, find and document evidence. Your the only one that can get to the button of the events on Green Creek.

The story behind Apparition is full of gore, you’ll find bits and pieces while exploring Green Creek. The Ouija board is an interesting way of investigating the events a year ago. You’ll have a chance to ask questions to the spirits that haunt the campsite, the answers can be very surprising.

Gameplay

Apparition has a very clear goal, get evidence of paranormal activity. At the start of each game, you’ll have to choose your equipment before heading to the creek. Don’t forget to equip your camera to take pictures of the evidence, and the tripod and video camera to record your Ouija sessions. You might also want to take a lighter.

I want to give you some advice, you can turn on the flash of the camera pressing ‘F’. The pictures won’t give you evidence points without proper lighting. Also, if you buy a piece of equipment with your experience points, you won’t have to buy it again for the next round, don’t be stingy.

Later in the game, you’ll find the cellar. Here, you’ll be able to rest and craft different items that will help with your investigation. I won’t spoil any details about what you can craft, but you’ll finally find the use for those scraps of wood and metal.

Everything on this survival horror experience is very detailed, MrCiastku developed an extremely immersive environment for Apparition. My favorite part is the subtle changes of lights when you’re using your candle or a video camera with a flash. They managed to reproduce the picture taking experience really well.
