Link’s Awakening Being Remade For 3DS, 2018 Release?

It seems 1993’s The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for the Gameboy may be coming in 2018 as a remake for Nintendo 3DS if rumors are to be true.

Marcus Sellars, someone I am unfamiliar with so I cannot attest to his credibility, claims the game will release this year and the developer behind this remake is Grezzo. Grezzo is not new to the Zelda franchise, having participated in both Ocarina Of Time and Majora’s Mask 3DS ports. The belief is that it will launch this year, within the next 6 months in either Q2 or Q3 and it’s being touted internally as the best Zelda game created for handhelds. That’s interesting as A Link Between Worlds was a masterpiece.

It also seems Nintendo meant what they said when they vowed to continue 3DS support. I had thought that statement was made in case the Switch didn’t resonate with fans but seeing as its attempting, and very well could, eclipse the sales of Wii it’s interesting they are keeping their word. There is also no mention of a Switch version.

Reddit user Nate869621 also seems to add more fuel to the rumor and backs Sellar’s claims, even referencing a 2DS bundle of some kind.
