Major Changes

Let’s start this off with the major changes in store for your instant games collection. Starting March 8, 2019, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita titles will no longer be offered as part of the monthly service. This being due to the majority of players having a PlayStation 4 in their home. PlayStation will be implementing these changes in order to provide a better monthly service offerings by focusing on the behemoth known as the PlayStation 4. This of course is speculation on my part but I fully see that this could be a move to allow more options like better games and including PSVR in to the monthly lineup. So far they’ve given a few PSVR titles away as a bonus but this could pave the way for a more regular offering with those titles. With the increasing popularity of the PSVR this would be a good way to allow late adopters of the tech to have a pretty good collection of games to try out on their new peripheral the instant they pick one up. It would also maybe entice some others to go out and see what all these games are about since they’d likely be sitting in the person’s library just waiting to be played. Of course all that remains to be seen and we’ll know for sure in 12 months time. Now on to the jaw dropping lineup PlayStation has in store for us for March.

Major Games

With the announcement this month that older generations would be removed next year from the service it seems like they lead with some very stellar titles to make the news a little easier to bear. Whatever the reason, they really seemed to have hit it out of the park for March 2018. Your first game coming to the service will be Bloodborne. Yes, you heard that right, now you will be able to have Bloodborne as part of your library and play through the ultra challenging levels that From Software created exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Seeing as how long it took us to get Knack, a PS4 launch title, this news comes as a huge surprise as this has been herald as one of the PlayStation 4’s most prized exclusive.

Next up we have another stellar exclusive with Ratchet and Clank. Whether this will be your first experience with the iconic franchise or your revisit to the series, you’ll be joining Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark and their new friends as they battle to save the Solana Galaxy. With this new installment of the PS2 classic, you’ll get to explore the galaxy and get a deeper look at the origin story for these two beloved characters.

Additional PS Plus Lineup

The additional games you will receive are as follows:

  • Legend of Kay, PS3
  • Mighty No. 9, PS3 (Cross Buy with PS4)
  • Claire: Extended Cut, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
  • Bombing Busters, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)

As an additional incentive and for fans of Dungeon Defenders II, there will be a Dungeon Defenders PS Plus Pack available March 13 to April 10 for PS Plus members. This pack will contain 4 Shadow Costumes, 1 Million in Gold, 5 Campaign Shard Packs, 5 Defender Packs, and a Ninja Gato Pet. You can get your hands on this PS Plus Pack and jump straight in to the action.

As an additional note, if you are unsatisfied with either the current offerings or the announcement of upcoming changes and would like to cancel, make sure you cancel your service by turning off Auto-Renewal in your account settings before March 8, 2019.
