On May 24th on the Japanese eshop, players will be able to play Resident Evil 7: Cloud Version.
What is the cloud version? Well, it’s Resident Evil 7 being streamed to your Switch with a required internet connection. You will only be downloading 45MB of data and can play the game, and all additional content, for 15 minutes free. After that, a ticket is required to purchase that will run you 2000 yen and allow you to stream the game for 180 days.
Why Capcom has decided to go this route is a mystery and entirely defeats the purpose of the Switch completely. No news on a western release.
I don’t understand it, I think it’s a missed opportunity from Capcom but that seems to be common practice with them. What do you all think? Will you pick up this Cloud Version? Have you played Resident Evil 7?
