When Nintendo first launched their team-based shooter Splatoon on Nintendo Wii U, no one could ever imagine that they would strike gold with its colorful shooter. A sequel was inevitable and shortly after launching the highly successful Nintendo Switch, Splatoon 2 graced the portable hybrid. Both these games, in terms of support, have received free gear and free maps to add to its longevity but, for the sequel, Nintendo revealed an expansion.
The Octo expansion includes the ability to play as an Octoling, a hefty piece of single player content, and the launch was said to be in the summer for $20. Well, it seems the release date has been leaked.
The German Splatoon 2 Facebook page seemed to update their profile banner and in doing so accidently posted the date of July 13th 2018 on it. I usually say take these dates with a grain of salt when they leak but developers did say a summer release was the goal and this, coincidently or not, is also the date the Amiibos for Pearl and Marina are set to release.
