Bethesda Game Studios is one of the best developers and publishers out there but until 2017, they had never been on Nintendo hardware. This changed when Nintendo launched the Nintendo Switch in 2017 by bringing both Skyrim and Doom to the hybrid console. An amazing feat; one of the best FPS to have been recently released and one of the largest and most successful RPGs. The Switch versions were well received and sold well enough to impress Bethesda in order to bring Wolfenstein 2 over to the console as well.
When Skyrim was launched, a comment was made by Pete Hines, Bethesda’s vice president of marketing and communication, that The Elder Scrolls V would not be the only title released for the console, which was later confirmed by Doom’s release and the announcement of Wolfenstein 2. Speaking with Dualshockers at PAX East show floor where Wolfenstein 2 was playable on Switch, Mr. Hines made more comments about Switch releases because they see it as a serious platform for their games.
“From my perspective, any time we can bring it out on the Switch at the exact same time as the other platforms for new releases, I don’t know why we wouldn’t,” Pete Hines said when discussing late ports to the hybrid console, such as the case with Wolfenstein 2.
It’s been clearly hinted by the company that more games could be coming to the console. So our question here at The Loot Gaming is what Bethesda games would you like to see come to the Nintendo Switch? I would love to see both of the Evil Within games come and the Dishonor games!
