Devolver Digital E3 2019 Direct Wrap-up
Devolver Digital released their E3 2019 video, lampooning a number of subjects in the gaming world, from DLC to storefronts to monetization of games in general, and presented this year’s show in a Nintendo Direct style video. Below are the announced games from their “Devolver Direct.”
Fall Guys – Playstation 4 and PC, Coming 2020
A colorful trailer reveals a new game coming next year, the objective of this battle royal game appears to be the elimination of the opponents “fall guys” using obstacle course like mechanics within the levels.
Devolver Bootleg – PC, Available now
What better way to make money than by ripping off your own games. Devolver announces the release of Devolver Bootleg, a PC game that rips off eight popular Devolver titles redone in retro NES fashion. Games include Enter the Gun Dungeon, Hotline Milwaukee, Ape Out Jr., Shootyboots, Luftrousers 3, Absolvers, Cat Game and PikUNIKU Ball-Stars. Yes, this is real.
Carrion – PC, and Console. Coming 2020
Devolver and Phobia Game Studio present a reverse horror experience, a 2D side-scrolling adventure where you play as the monster hunting humans.
Enter the Gungeon: House of the Gundead – Arcade & Garages, Coming 2020
Not to be outdone by others trying to bank in on nostalgia, Devolver announced an actual arcade shooter based on one of Devolver’s more well-known properties. We’re talking light guns. We’re talking real actual cabinets. This is an actual arcade game.
The Messenger Picnic Panic Expansion – PS4 and Switch, Coming July 11, 2019
A free expansion for Devolver’s The Messenger will release on July 11, featuring new levels.
My Friend Pedro – Switch and PC, Coming June 20, 2019
Perhaps the highlight of Devolver’s Direct (save the actual intro), this high octane side-scrolling shooter blends 2D and 3D action in what can only be described as a blend of Trials and Shadow Complex.
