On Sunday, we reported that UK retailer GAME was selling the Limited Edition Marvel’s Spider-Man PS4 Pro in nonsensical bundles that forced consumers to pay over the odds to get their hands on the collector’s item.
As GAME had the exclusive rights to sell the console it meant that no other option was available for excited fans. Now, GAME appears to have backtracked and are offering the console on its own. A lot of people were angry at GAME’s price gouging and given GAME’s already unpopular reputation among gamers, it meant they were more than willing to be vocal about the specialist retailer’s poor sales tactics.
We can’t say for sure what motivated GAME to change their stance. We did reach out for comment but no one would provide a firm answer. However, it is great that they’ve adapted to offer consumers the best option possible. Hopefully, they continue to listen to feedback and offer their consumers fair value for their products, especially high-value exclusive items.
