Remember when we first heard about Odyssey? It was due to an early merchandising leak, which later on forced official confirmation on behalf of Ubisoft.

Via Game Pro, a ton of new screenshots of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey have been leaked ahead of the official showcase. These screenshots provide a good amount of information at first glance; it’s likely the same Assassin’s Creed Origins engine and it also features similar gameplay mechanics. Reading between lines, Ubisoft has gone back to its old release one Assassin’s Creed game per year formula, and it’s probably here to stay for a while. This kind of news might be good for some of the franchise fans but, for others, the result is a game that could bring less innovation, other than a new plot and setting.

The screenshot above [“Rejected by your family, …”] fuels some of the early rumours that were pointing out the chance of choosing between a male or female character. This information will be most likely confirmed at the official reveal by either Ubisoft during its E3 2018 press conference (June 11) or maybe we even get the chance to verify it earlier, at Microsoft’s press conference later today.

E3 is finally here, which means there will be much more gaming announcements such as the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date, a new Star Wars game being developed by Respawn, the official confirmation of Battlefield V having a Battle Royale mode or simply more insight into upcoming games like Anthem.
