Recently I was in Cologne for Gamescom 2018. While there I played a plethora of games, ranging from bad; Shadow of the Tomb Raider, to average; Jump Force, to intriguing; Man of Medan to amazing; Biomutant, to downright unbelievably incredibly jaw drop; Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
You can read my in-depth preview from my hands on gameplay session right here. Spoiler? I loved it. It’s a special game and I can’t wait to play more on March 22nd. I’ve already decided to be ill that week. Until then Activision has been kind enough to release a brand new trailer to keep me enthralled with all things Samurai. The trailer reiterates two key components of Sekiro’s gameplay that sets it aside from legendary developer From Software’s Souls series. The first is the story. This title has a much more hands-on story which will see you play a set character and set out to save your master and enact revenge on his kidnapper. The second is stealth. It’s vital in Sekiro and utilizing the environment is a big must. You can see that in the brief gameplay snippets in the trailer. It makes fights more engaging, you can shape the battlefield and use stealth to reduce the challenge ahead.
