No Fallout 76 Crossplay plans (yet), Thanks Sony!

Crossplay has been a big topic of discussion this year, especially due to the controversy surrounding Sony and Fortnite. Sony has stated many times that they are listening but during an interview between German publication GameStar and Fallout 76 director Todd Howard, it seems they are hearing but not comprehending.

Fallout 76 is the next big release from Bethesda and the first completely multiplayer experience. This is the game that Bethesda will be putting the marketing machine behind and they had hoped that, due to how massive and beloved the franchise is, cross play would be a given. Also, crossplay is attempting to become an industry standard for how prevalent it’s trying to become and with other studios implementing it.

According to industry legend Todd Howard: “Sony hasn’t been as helpful as everyone would like.” Just like with Fortnite.

Sony seems to be terrified of cross play even though rival competitors Microsoft and Nintendo have decided to be open and implement it between each other with titles such as Fortnite, Paladins, and Minecraft.
