Overwatch’s Uprising Event Returns For A Second Year!

One of the reasons Overwatch has maintained its success and high player count is due to its seasonal events. These events have covered everything from Halloween co-op to sports inspired Lucio Ball. Of all these events, the one that may be the most important is the Uprising Event from April of last year. This event offered a slice to Overwatch’s story, to its lore, in that it shows some events before the base game of Overwatch takes place. Most notably, it follows Tracer in her first mission.

At the end of the Overwatch organization’s life, an uprising took place. A mission was made to put a stop to the Null Sector uprising in Kong’s Row. The British Prime Minister denied Jack Morrison’s proposal of an Overwatch strike team, however, he didn’t listen and sent a team consisting of Tracer, Mercy, Torbjorn, and Reinhardt to fight these Null Sector Omnics. Fighting throughout the city against these devious robots, some of them resembling Orisa, in an attempt to deliver a bomb to the hide out while dealing with anti-air turrets.

Like all Overwatch events, expect a plethora of customization items ranging from emotes to skins, to victory sequences and taunts, and everything in between. This is also a great opportunity to get these limited time items from last year, at a reduced cost if you spend gold as the newer items take the original cost. Uprising, like all Overwatch events, is highly rated cooperative gameplay that is a ton of fun and a vast range of challenge depending on difficulty and character chosen.

The event will be available on all platforms: Xbox One, PS4, and PC this April! Are you excited for the event? Let us know in the comment section below!
