Xbox 1st Party Games are Coming

It was only a matter of time until Xbox fans were going to start seeing an increase of 1st party titles from in-house studios.

Earlier this morning, on November 6th an article from Bloomberg Tech gave some very enlightening and welcoming news. With the Xbox One X set to launch tomorrow on November 7th Xbox now has the best console hardware to date, giving its competitors a serious run for its value. The Microsoft division plans to increase investment for in-house 1st party studios by bolstering their current studios and acquiring ones they feel would benefit the Xbox brand as a whole.

This is sorely needed for Xbox. Sony 1st party doing extremely well and producing some of the best 1st party singleplayer games people can currently experience. Games franchises like Gears of War, Halo, and Forza have all been of substantial importance for the brand, and have become billion-dollar powerhouses of exclusives. This can easily be replicated if enough care and attention were given to certain titles and studios (Ahem.. Bluehole!). During an interview with Bloomberg Tech Phil had this to say. “We need to grow, and I look forward to doing that,” Spencer said. “Our ability to go create content has to be one of our strengths. We haven’t always invested at the same level. We’ve gone through ups and downs in the investment.”

With his new promotion and having a seat at the senior leadership table alongside Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella, we can have some security knowing that the Xbox brand is now moving in the right direction in the hands of someone that truly cares for the fans. The future of Xbox is looking good, with the powerhouse Xbox One X releasing tomorrow and Phil Spencer now focusing on software development, the next few years to come are going to be some of the best fans have ever had. I stated this in an article written not too long ago, and it still holds true to this day. It’s a very exciting time to be a gamer, not just on Xbox but for all platforms. Be excited, be joyful, and respect your fellow gamer! This is going to be a great time for everyone.

Have your say!
