Scribblenauts Showdown Announced

Scribblenauts Showdown has been officially announced after all the speculation that came when import site Play-Asia had it listed a week ago for a Nintendo Switch release dated for March 9th. They weren’t that far off.

Scribblenauts Showdown will be released in March 6th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game includes a versus mode and the classic sandbox mode, as well as the newly announced Showdown mode. Up to four players compete in what has been dubbed “imagine your way to victory” in several types of mini-games. Two types of games shown were “Wordy” and “Speedy”.

“Wordy” has players trying to outsmart others by utilizing words in the in game dictionary. “Speedy” has players trying to compete challenges the fastest. The game tracks progress using a board, similar to board games. In versus mode, players battle in twenty-five mini-games using the games built in dictionary at thirty-five thousand words.

In sandbox mode, posters have eight different levels to use object summoning using the words provided. You also get to design your Scribblenaut with more options presenting themselves as you progress through the game.

The last time Scribblenauts was released, was Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure in 2013 to high praise. A six game was suppose to release for iOS but was cancelled in 2016 when 5th Cell had to unfortunately lay off some employees.

Have your say!
