Retro Making Star Fox: Grand Prix?

One of the great mysteries of Nintendo’s first party studios is what is Retro up to? Rumors before were that they were working on a third installment of their fantastic Donkey Kong Country Returns series. Then when Metroid Prime 4 was announced, it was believed that, perhaps, Retro was behind the next entry in the first person space pirate adventure.

Neither have been confirmed to be developed by them. There is no indication another Donkey Kong Country is in development and Bandai Namco is rumored to be behind Metroid Prime 4. Well, today it’s been leaked that Retro is working on a Star Fox racing game and if it’s true, it’s the potentially the best thing ever.

It’s being described as Diddy Kong Racing mixed with F-Zero. Let that sink in.

With Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition on Switch, it’s often wondered if they would make another mainline Mario Kart for their console and many, like myself, wondered if they would work on one of their untouched racers. I’ve wanted them to bring back the F-Zero series and I’ve been interesting in seeing the Diddy racer brought back.

We’ll know more at E3 but if it’s true, a thousand times yes! Retro has proven themselves as a phenomenal developer and there is no doubt they will deliver a spectacular experience.
