This is the first response from Sony that actually acknowledges the situation and address the outcry from gamers ever since Fortnite launched on Nintendo Switch and refueled the fires of the cross play debate. Since then, a lot has developed. Sony issued a tone deaf statement about cross play being available with PC and mobile platforms. Former Sony developer John Smedley then chimed in, claiming the internal reason for the lack of console cross play was as simple as “money”.
